julie and the anti-waste "philosofruit"

Pulpe de Vie was born 15 years ago out of my desire to create organic and natural cosmetics accessible to all and from an analysis: tons of good organic fruits and vegetables are thrown away every day because of their appearance. Why not upcycling them to create high in vitamins beauty care products ?

Care products that are gentle for the skin and for the planet, full of sun and good mood, because we come from the South ! 😊

a little "biogra-fruit"...

This is Julie when she was 13 years old. She doesn't know it yet, but her destiny is to save "ugly" fruits!

To understand the genesis of Julie's project, we must go back a long way, to where she spent the best years of her childhood: on the borders of sub-Saharan Africa.

Bathed in sunshine and "joie de vivre", she grew up in an environment that gave her a taste for freedom and simple things. She was deeply soak up with an art of living based on authenticity and closeness to nature, values that will never leave her.

This is Julie when she was 13 years old. She doesn't know it yet, but her destiny is to save "ugly" fruits!

After a return to the greyness of Paris for business studies followed by a 10-year career in marketing in large groups, it became clear to her that this was not the life she wanted. She needed to get back to basics, to reconnect with nature and to find the light of the South back: she left for Marseille!

At a time when protecting the planet is not yet a trend, she has an idea that is off the beaten track: that of to reuse "ugly" fruit from unsold food to make skin care products. Shaking up the codes of cosmetics of the moment, she decided to place the fight against waste at the heart of her commitment.

...a quirky but common sense idea, which soon bore fruit!

She then set her company up and became a precursor of what would later become a major trend: the upcycling economy, which consists of revaluing products that have been discarded from the market to give them a second life. His challenge: to reenchant daily life with cosmetics that are both healthy and responsible, but also fun, colorful and full of good humor.

Not easy to create such an innovative and local production line by starting from scratch: relying only on the strength of her idea and her power of persuasion, Julie ended up building a network of partners in the South of France: farmers from small organic farms, laboratory technicians for the elaboration of the formulas, and investors who believed in her approach. She made it: in 2009, Pulpe de Vie was born!

This is by doing the best with the means at its disposal, with an iron will and a lot of vitamin C (thanks to the fruit!), that Pulpe de Vie quickly took off. In 2015, Julie gave a boost to her strategy by choosing to distributer the bands in the mass distribution. The gamble paid off: Pulpe de Vie is now sold in most major national retailers and is exploding on the web (by the way, why not take a look at our e-shop?)

An unyielding small business that still holds its own against the giants of the cosmetics industry, Pulpe de Vie remains human-sized and relies on the loyal support of its enthusiastic community on social networks, which has participated in co-creating product innovations since 2022.

12 years later, Pulpe de Vie is a true entrepreneurial success story with 48 products in the catalog, more than 2000 points of sale in France, 2.5 million euros in sales in 2020, and still the same energy to produce skin care products that do make sens and bring color back into our lives!
